How I can help:
→ Attachment & Relationship Patterns
→ Healing from Emotionally Immature Parents
→ Blog

I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma and attachment-based therapy for adults and couples. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, emotional disconnection, people-pleasing, or self-criticism that trace back to early relationships or overwhelming life experiences. I help clients understand why these patterns developed and gently work toward creating more safety, choice, and connection—both internally and in relationships. My approach is relational, compassionate, and collaborative.

I integrate attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and somatic awareness to support healing at a pace that feels respectful and sustainable. Therapy with me is not about fixing yourself, but about increasing self-understanding, emotional regulation, and the ability to form secure, meaningful relationships.

I use skills from my training in Family Systems Theory (Bowenian approach), focusing on relational patterns and the family as an interconnected emotional system; and Level 1 Training, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Specializing in relationship communication and emotional connection.
Testimonials
“After trying 3 other therapists I almost gave up, but then I found Lisa. I had thought I had worked through what was getting in the way, but realized I had just buried it. Lisa helped me to find every barrier. I finally feel free and I am so thankful I reached out."
About Lisa
I am a Licensed Clinical therapist with over 30 years of experience. I obtained a Master's degree from the University of Chicago's Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice with a concentration in clinical work. Prior to launching my private practice 15 years ago, I worked for 10 years at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the psychiatric emergency room and inpatient department. I am trained in Trauma/Informed Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is Certified in Emotional Freedom Therapy. Many of the people I work with have spent years being the strong one, taking care of others, or questioning their own needs. Therapy offers a place to slow down, understand these patterns, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
“I was nervous about calling Lisa at first, not knowing if she could help me or not. I immediately felt at ease and comfortable. My self doubt is gone and I am amazed at the changes I have made in my relationships ”
